Still playing the Lain PS1 game, I haven't had time to play it, nor was I in the mood :P

If you want to play it for yourself, you can here
These nodes don't exactly 'finish' the game (however, it does play out a long cutscene, after you click these, it will replace old nodes)
Touko's Diaries 092 - Lain's Diaries 237
Counselor 053 - Digital Movie 1057

I'm gonna be honest, I really couldn't get into Lain until I played the PS1 Game.
Like, sure, the psychosis / not feeling real was relatable but i didn't really get it
that was until I played the PS1 game!

im never gonna change this review i cannot be bothered

BATEMAN: You like the Lain Serial Experiments series?

ALLEN: Um, they're okay.

BATEMAN: Their early work was a little too convoluted for my taste, but when the Lain PS1 game came out in 1998, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole game was made by a low-budget studio that funnelled all their passion into this one project, and while the ending of this game is different, it completes the shows ending. It's been compared to other games featuring mental illness but I think Lain has a far more direct approach.

...

BATEMAN: No, Allen.

ALLEN: Is that a raincoat?

BATEMAN: Yes, it is. In 1998, mental illness in Japan was hardly discussed, let alone mentioned. For a game to feature the main character of the show being in therapy and the other main character being a therapist herself was revolutionary for such a small studio. Most people gloss over the game as they don't see it as a 'game' but they are really missing out on an experience you can't find anywhere else. Hey Paul!

Bateman murders Allen with an axe

BATEMAN: Try listening to Duvet by Bôa now, you fuckin' stupid bastard!
